The Ravenous Runners and The Franklin Farm 5k
We are thrilled to be hosting The Franklin Farm 5k to help raise funds for The Northern Rhode Island Food Pantry and The Historic Metcalf-Franklin Farm.
THE RACE
When: Saturday, 9/25/2021 at 8:30 AM
Where: Race starts at Franklin Farm, meanders through the streets of Cumberland, and finishes back at the farm.
Why: Benefits The Northern RI Food Pantry and The Historic Metcalf-Franklin Farm.
What Else:
Cash prizes to top 3 overall males and females!
Registration fee is $30; increases to $35 on race day
Merchandise prizes to age group winners!
Franklin Farm Harvest Festival immediately after!
THE FRANKLIN FARM
The Historic Metcalf-Franklin Farm Preservation Association, is a 501c3 and volunteer organization that continues to work on its three missions:
1. Preserve the historic fields, buildings, walls and farming
2. Provide Educational Opportunities for all ages
3. Provide natural, farm fresh vegetables for those experiencing food insecurities in RI
We welcome all ages to volunteer at the farm, to become involved with the association and become a part of our Board of Directors. Whether you have an hour or a day, we have a place for you!
FOOD DONATIONS
We partnered with The Northern RI Food Pantry to collect over 600 lbs of food to donate. As a result of that partnership, we were thrilled to be invited to increase our impact! In August we invited the food pantry to be a beneficiary of the collaboration between The Ravenous Runners and The Franklin Farm and The Franklin Farm 5k. We are thrilled to spearhead this partnership so we can work together to address food insecurity in our community.
